In memory of Ted

Edward Charles Townsend was born in South Wales in 1941 and brought up in north London.

He studied Economics and Law at University College of Wales and then a PhD in Corporate Finance at Manchester Business School.

After a short period as a Lecturer in Business Studies at Liverpool University, he began a career in finance and management consulting, before entering the City and international business, working in Europe, the USA and Asia.

When Edward retired with his wife Sheila to Devon, he turned his attention to writing historical novels, painting, fishing and walking their dogs.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sheila of 54 years of marriage, and his daughters Sian Townsend and Anna Webb and their husbands Charles Warren and Grahame Webb, and 4 grandchildren: Alex Webb, Daisy Webb, Wade Warren and Serena Warren.

He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
